My Instagram Reels Journey: Learning and Growing
Have you ever felt lost in the world of social media? I'm here to share my experiences with Instagram Reels. I'll talk about what I learned and how I grew.
Early Days and Copyright Confusion
When I first started making videos, I didn't know much about copyright. I didn't understand how it worked or why it mattered. I just thought things would be okay. I didn't know about revenue or how YouTube worked.
Someone who had a news channel told me about copyright issues. They explained that my videos had copyright problems. I was confused. I didn't know how to fix it. I wanted to learn more, so I started doing research on YouTube.
Discovering YouTube Studio
I slowly learned how things worked. I found out that I could replace the audio in my videos. At first, I didn't know how to use YouTube Studio. I even deleted a video and re-uploaded it. Someone told me I could just replace the audio. Now I know how to handle copyright issues using YouTube Studio.
If you're having copyright problems, YouTube Studio is your friend. Watch videos about it. Learn how to replace audio. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it.
To use YouTube Studio, go to the Chrome browser on your computer. You can also use Chrome on your phone and select the desktop version. It might seem hard, but it's worth learning.
Diving Deeper: YouTube Digital Garage
I got really into learning everything about YouTube. I even explored YouTube Digital Garage. I tried to learn as much as possible. It had basic information that helped me a lot.
The Instagram Reels Challenge
Instagram Reels is a different story. It can be hard to make money on Reels. You never know if your videos will do well.
I once challenged myself to create a lot of dance videos. I made thousands of Reels in about three weeks. It was hard because I didn't have much knowledge. I made 20 to 25 Reels every day. It was tough to manage everything.
Think about it: You have to decide what moves to use and how to make each Reel interesting. I used to overthink everything. I would watch other people's Reels and try to figure out what to do.
I even used white gloves in my videos. I made so many videos that the gloves got ruined from sweat. The material inside melted. Even though it was challenging, I kept going.
Views and YouTube Shorts
I didn't get a lot of views at first. Some videos got around 5,000 views. I couldn't upload the videos to YouTube because of copyright issues.
Around that time, YouTube Shorts came out. I decided to download my Instagram Reels and upload them to YouTube Shorts. I didn't know much about the beta version of Shorts. I didn't realize how popular it would become.
Now, YouTube Shorts is huge. It has billions of views every day. People are getting millions of views on their Shorts. YouTube Shorts is even more popular than TikTok.
Account Suspensions and Learning from Mistakes
I made a mistake by uploading too many videos. My Instagram account got suspended. I sent a request to get my account back. It took three months, but I finally got it back.
By then, I was already creating videos on other platforms. I learned that you can make short videos. On Instagram, videos are one minute long. On other platforms, they can be even shorter.
I started making more videos. I had hundreds of Reels. When I uploaded them to Instagram, there was a watermark issue. My account got frozen. I had a lot of followers, but they stopped growing.
I contacted Instagram again. I had to prove that I made the videos. They unfroze my account, but it didn't really help. Once an account is frozen, it's hard to get followers back.
Lessons from Other Platforms
I had a similar experience with another platform. I was doing well there. I had millions of views. I even made some money. But then I had to focus on college. I didn't have time for the platform.
When I came back, my views went down. It's hard to stay popular if you don't keep posting. Now, I'm making Reels on Instagram again. But it's not the same. The competition is tough.
Social Media: A Game of Chance
Social media is like an experiment. You have to try different things. It's hard to make a living from it. It depends on your content and how consistent you are.
I made money from YouTube and other platforms. But I wasn't consistent. That's why my earnings stopped. Even though I had millions of views, my Instagram is still struggling.
Social media is a game of chance. You never know who will get lucky. My Instagram Reels had their moment. Now, I get some views, but it's not a big deal.
There was a time when my views on Instagram reached 100,000. That was when I started making videos about Snapchat and Twitter. But then the views went down again. The same thing happened on Facebook.
