School Day Stories: The Pitch Test
Have you ever felt your voice was too loud? Or maybe you remember a funny story from your school days? Let's talk about a time when my loud voice got me into a bit of trouble.
Feeling Under the Weather
I wasn't feeling well, so I was resting. I woke up late one night. Usually, my parents are asleep by then. They don't like it when I record videos at night because my voice can be loud. Now, you might not think my voice is that loud. But, if you heard it in a quiet room, you'd notice the difference.
Late Night Snack
I decided to eat something. I had some mixed vegetables. I like them, but I usually eat them with chili. Since I wasn't feeling great, I didn't want too much spice. If I ate too much and got sick, it would be uncomfortable. I also had a sweet drink with milk.
Eating something sweet after spicy food helps balance things out. It's like the old days when kings would eat spicy food with something sweet. This helps with digestion.
I walked around for a few hours after eating and drank water. I usually drink two to four liters of water each day, whether I'm sick or not.
The Importance of Walking
I went for a walk in the cool air. This helped me relax. I had been in bed all day and was bored. When I sleep, I have vivid dreams. It's peaceful compared to the real world, which can be stressful.
A Memory From School
This reminds me of a story from school. My voice is naturally loud. In school, kids would stand on stage with a microphone and get everyone's attention. I never did this. I was new to the school.
One day, my gym teacher gave me a chance to speak. I wasn't very athletic then, but I did okay. Some kids made fun of me because they had never seen me do this before. I wasn't one of the "cool" kids.
I started school in 8th grade and wasn't very popular. In 10th grade, I got better grades. By 11th grade, I was doing okay.
Back to the story. I don't remember if it was in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade when I got the chance to speak. All I know is that our gym teachers changed a lot.
When I had the chance to speak, everyone laughed. I got scared. The teacher told me to have confidence. I asked them to take the microphone away. I told them I didn't need it.
I said "Attention!" as loud as I could. Everyone was shocked. The kids next to me just stared. My voice was so loud that day.
No More Chances
I didn't get another chance to speak like that again. My voice was too loud. People started making fun of me.
I didn't do speeches or debates much. I was shy. But, when I did speak, people were surprised by my ideas.
In 12th grade, I gave a speech in front of the principal. I was scared. I wrote it down and practiced at home. I didn't know why the principal was there. Our English teacher, who was very strict, gave me the chance to speak.
I remembered my speech, but I was nervous. I stood behind a box, shaking. I sat in the back of the room. People made fun of me for being scared.
When my name was called, people wondered who I was. They didn't know I could give a speech. They were shocked that the strict English teacher gave me a chance.
I went on stage and shared my thoughts. What happened next? You'll have to wait for the next part of the story! What's Next ?
That's it for this story.
